JOB SUMMARY:
The Parks Operations Worker plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of park facilities, ensuring that the park grounds are clean, safe, and well-maintained for visitors. This role combines elements of maintenance, facility upkeep, and visitor services to create a pleasant environment. Responsibilities include performing routine cleaning, assisting with maintenance tasks, and ensuring the park remains enjoyable and safe for all who visit.
ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS:
- Maintain the cleanliness of park facilities by collecting and disposing of trash and ensuring proper waste disposal and recycling.
- Perform groundskeeping tasks such as mowing, trimming hedges, weeding, and pruning plants.
- Clean and maintain park restrooms, picnic areas, classrooms, and other park structures.
- Assist with minor repairs and general upkeep of park structures and equipment.
- Monitor park areas for safety hazards and report issues to management to ensure visitor safety.
- Support Park events, special activities, and educational programs as needed.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
- Engage with visitors, providing information and assisting as required.
- Assist in planting, caring for trees, flowers, and other vegetation to enhance park aesthetics.
- Ensure Park pathways and recreational areas are free of hazards.
- Other duties as assigned.
