About the Position
The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) – Clinical Instructor position supports the College of Nursing’s school-based nurse-managed health center serving children in Knox County Schools located at Vine School Health Center. This is a part-time (3 days per week) position that provides pediatric primary care to Knox County children at the clinic 12 months of the year as a member of the interprofessional health care team while providing student clinical experiences. This is a 12-month faculty appointment that supervises and provides formative and summative evaluations of clinical performance of APRN students as assigned.
Duties:
· Provide holistic comprehensive primary care to children from newborn, infants, toddlers, adolescents and young adults including well childcare and prevention and management of common acute illnesses and chronic conditions
· Collaborate with clinical concentration coordinators and faculty, program directors, and the Associate and Assistant Deans in the clinical education of students
· Collaborate with faculty in arranging student clinical experiences (e.g. orientation to objectives of clinical experience, course syllabus, clinical schedule)
· Supervise and provide formative and summative evaluations of clinical performance of APRN students as assigned
· Apply evidence from best education practices to clinical teaching
· Review personal and clinical course objectives and provide individualized instruction
· Participate in a scholarly research projects as assigned
· Provide on call coverage as assigned
· Have transportation for visits to assigned satellite schools
Required Qualifications:
· Master is Nursing (MSN) with national certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
· Minimum one year experience as a practicing PNP
· Licensure as a registered nurse and APRN in the state of Tennessee
