    Position: Middle School Math Teacher (Grades 7–8)
    Location: Monroe Middle School, Monroe Public Schools
    Reports To: Building Principal

    Position Summary:
    Monroe Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and innovative Middle School Math Teacher to join our team for the 2025–2026 school year. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging instruction in mathematics for 7th and 8th grade students, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and a strong foundation in math skills.

     

    Responsibilities:

     
    • Provide direct instruction in mathematics for grades 7 and 8 in alignment with district curriculum and state standards.
    • Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that supports diverse learners.
    • Use data to inform instruction, monitor student progress, and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
    • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families to promote student growth and achievement.
    • Incorporate technology and hands-on activities to enhance student learning.
    • Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with parents/guardians.
    • Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school-wide initiatives.
     

    Qualifications:

     
    • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with endorsement in Mathematics (EX or Middle Level Math).
    • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in math instruction at the middle school level.
    • Strong classroom management skills with a focus on building positive student relationships.
    • Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
    • Commitment to continuous professional growth and student success.
     

    Preferred Qualifications:

     
    • Experience teaching middle school students in mathematics.
    • Familiarity with differentiated instruction, project-based learning, and restorative practices.
    • Ability to integrate technology and digital tools into instruction.
