Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Maintain clean work area, equipment, vehicles, and other Milford assets.
  2. Small gas/diesel engine maintenance and repair 
  3. Basic engine electrical system troubleshooting and repair 
  4. Hydraulic system maintenance and repair – pumps, drives, valves and cylinders 
  5. Preventive maintenance – lubricating, filtration and fluid changes, administer PM schedules 
  6. Service writing – report system, estimates, diagnosis and documenting repairs
  7. Inspect the fusion equipment upon check in and check out. 
  8. Perform test fusions on fusion equipment (small and medium diameter)
  9. Works with Shop Tech and other Shop Mechanics to accomplish departmental goals
  10. Verification of incoming shipments; ensures materials are unloaded, stored, and verified according to policy.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Basic proficiency of reading and writing of the English language.
  2. Willingness to perform all required tasks.
  3. Good oral and written communication skills 
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of work safety habits.
  5. Ability to professionally represent the company.
  6. Ability to read service and repair manuals 
  7. Ability to use hand and power tools
  1. Basic knowledge of appropriate software
  2. Knowledge of tools, equipment and procedures used in the general overhaul, repairs and maintenance of equipment
  3. Repair knowledge in one or more of the following is require: small gasoline engine, diesel engine, electrical engine control systems, trailer wiring, hydraulic systems. 
  4. Able to work on‐call (as necessary and/or an emergency arises) and extended hours (including after hours and weekends).
  5. Good mechanical skills.
  6. Attention to detail ‐ meticulous.
  7. Ability to operate material handling equipment (pallet jack, forklift, telehandler)
  8. Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  9. Ability to interact effectively with customers
  10. Ability to work individually and with a team
  11. Ability to drive company vehicles. 
  12. Can safely operate pickup truck/trailer combinations
  13. Truck, bumper pull, gooseneck, specialty trailer

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATION:

  1. One (1) year of related mechanic experience, required. 
  2. Must be able to obtain a forklift license within 30 days of employment
  3. Must be certified in McElroy fusion for small and medium diameters or ability to pass certifications within 14 days

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  1. Mechanic Shop and outdoor storage yard. 
  2. Occasional field service in remote locations 
  3. Occasional high noise level, dust, fumes such as fuel or exhaust may be encountered. 
  4. Sometimes exposed inclement weather while working outside or driving vehicle.
  5. Occasionally exposed to bright or dim lighting conditions while driving.
  6. Ability to work around moving equipment.
