- Teaches individual and team sports to students, utilizing knowledge of sports techniques and physical capabilities of students.
- Instructs students by lecturing, demonstrating and lecturing on sports topics.
- Explains and enforces safety rules and regulations governing sports and the use of exercise equipment.
- Observes students during practice to detect and correct mistakes.
- Explains score-keeping methods.
- Organizes and conducts competition and tournaments.
- Purchases, displays, maintains and repairs equipment.
- Establishes and enforces rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible.
- Maintains discipline
- Recognizes students encountering medical, physical and/or psychological problems and refers them to district specialists for assistance as required.
- Communicates with parents effectively
- Promotes the program throughout the community
- Responds to media requests
- Maintains accurate records and historical statistical data
- Actively maintain relationships with college programs.
- Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, mentor programs and teacher training workshops.

- Performs additional tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as assigned by the Head Coach

- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year College or University - preferred
- Missouri State Teaching Certificate � preferred
- Minimum 60 credit hours and Missouri Substitute Certificate
