Job Description

Program and Role Summary:



Wayfinder’s Family Preservation provides intensive counseling and other services, parents recognize their triggers and learn how to prevent the behaviors that destabilize their family. As a result of Family Preservation, children avoid out-of-home placement or reentry to foster care and can thrive in their nurturing families. This program launched in July 2024 and reflects Wayfinder’s commitment to expanding preventive services that can avert the need for crisis intervention.



 



The primary focus on the Program Manager is to oversee implementation and program management. This position will supervise In-Home Outreach Counselors who provide intensive, in-home support to at-risk families in Los Angeles County. The primary goal of the position is to prevent child abuse and neglect by addressing issues that place children at risk of out-of-home placement. This role is crucial in leading a team to promote family stability and ensuring the well-being of children within their homes.



 



Primary Responsibilities:




  • Ensure that program services align with DCFS goals and regulatory requirements.

  • Interface with the Pomona and Vermont Corridor DCFS offices to ensure clear & direct communication regarding cases & maintain positive working relationships; also represents Wayfinder at mandatory DCFS meetings in service areas as needed.

  • Attend cases to IHOCs and advocate for families with DCFS and other agencies as needed.

  • Complete and train IHOC’s in UFA assessments.

  • Work in collaboration with the Clinical Program Manager to ensure services align with Family Preservation policies and procedures.
