The Position 

The City of Maple Grove is seeking a passionate individual to serve  as a Tennis Instructor! Come enjoy the beautiful Minnesota spring and summer weather as you provide tennis lessons to guests.  As a Tennis Instructor you will work to develop and conduct lesson plans for youth, teens, and adults. Hours

Spring: Saturdays 9 AM - 12PM (Some Fridays when make-up classes are needed)

Position Duties

  • Develop and conduct lesson plans for each class taught including the classes for youth, teens, and adults. 
  • Develop and conduct specialized classes as requested by Supervisor. 
  • Request supplies and materials as needed from Supervisor. 
  • Be Familiar with emergency and accident procedures, and know what to do if an accident occurs. 
  • Works with participants in a group setting and an individual basis to teach specific skills. 
  • Stay educated of new trends, techniques and procedures. 
  • Establishes clear objectives for all lessons and communicates the objectives to participants, plans and instructs lessons through discussions, demonstrations and class participation. 
  • Completes all other duties assigned by Supervisor. 


Ability to:

  • To work independently 
  • To work and communicate with a wide variety of people and ages. 
  • Enthusiasm to work with youth, teens and adults.    

Minimum Qualifications

Need to have: 

  • Must have some experience instructing youth, teens or adults and/or participate at a High School level playing tennis. 

Nice to have:
  • General knowledge of the Parks and Recreation programs and its philosophy. 
  • Experience developing and implementing programs and activities. 
  • Previous coaching experience.
