    Position:  Reading Success Teacher  

    Qualifications:  

    1. Education Level: Bachelor Degree or higher

    3. Experience desired: Understanding of the five pillars of reading and/or educational experience working with students

    General Summary:  

    Reading Success Teacher helps students develop proficient reading skills that will contribute to their academic growth. Reading Success Teacher will work extensively with students to improve specific reading skills focused on the five pillars of reading:  Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Vocabulary, Fluency and Comprehension.  They will address specific needs of a particular child/children that align with classroom Tier I and II intervention. Reading Success Teacher will be trained by our reading specialists to incorporate systematic research based interventions that are most appropriate for each child. 

    Performance Responsibilities:

    1. Consult frequently with reading specialists and classroom teachers to discuss reading deficits and incorporate systematic instruction using our progress-monitoring researched based assessments. 

    2. Implement systematic intentional interventions that address specific reading deficits in grades KG-6th grade.

    3. Complete training in the science of reading interventions: LTRS, DIBELS, STAR, Really Great Reading and PAST. 

    4. Collaborate with reading specialists and classroom teachers to identify reading strengths/deficits to ensure Reading Success Plan (RSP) goals are addressed.

    5. Collaborate monthly with reading specialists, classroom teachers and school administrators to review data to determine student progress.

    6.  Perform other responsibilities/duties as may, from time to time, be assigned by administration.
