POSITION: ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
POSTING PERIOD: April 1, 2026 – April 13, 2026
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master’s Degree in Administration or Educational Leadership.
2. Valid State of Michigan teaching certificate.
3. Must have, or be eligible to obtain, appropriate valid Administrative Certification.
4. Minimum of five years teaching and/or administrative experience, with successful building-level
administrative experience preferred.
5. Strong educational leader as demonstrated through skills detailed below.
6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Superintendent
SKILLS:
1. Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, positive school culture, and embracing
innovation in curricular, instructional, and assessment practices.
2. Commitment to supporting teacher growth through observations, feedback, and collaborative goal setting.
3. Knowledge of implementing school-wide MTSS framework that intentionally integrates social, emotional, and
behavioral (SEB) development as foundational to student learning, well-being, and academic achievement.
4. Ability to lead data-driven decision making and knowledge of related tiered intervention systems to
support a culture of sustaining positive student outcomes.
5. Experience in building and sustaining professional learning communities (PLCs) that focus on student-
centered learning and improvement in student outcomes.
6. Ability to cultivate relationships of trust and shared responsibility across all stakeholders (staff, families,
larger community).
7. Ability to articulate a clear and compelling vision for the school’s future that aligns with district goals and
the needs of the student body.
8. Ability to inspire and motivate staff, students, and the community to share in and work toward that vision.
9. Knowledge of culturally responsive teaching practices and how to implement them in a diverse school
setting.
10. Encourage teacher leadership and growth by providing opportunities for staff to take on leadership roles
within their areas of expertise.
11. Ability to plan, organize, and execute the full range of administrative tasks.
SALARY:
A competitive salary and benefit package will be offered to the successful candidate in accordance with the
Fennville Public Schools Administrative Salary Guidelines.
