Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long Term Substitute Teacher for 6th Grade Math at Locust Grove Middle. This role is essential in providing continuity of education and maintaining a positive learning environment for students during the absence of the regular teacher. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching math, capable of engaging students, and committed to fostering a supportive classroom atmosphere.

Responsibilities
- Deliver effective and engaging math instruction to 6th-grade students, following the established curriculum.
- Create lesson plans that accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, tests, and projects, providing timely feedback.
- Maintain classroom management and a positive learning environment.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school staff regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the educational experience for students.
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, as required.
- Attend faculty meetings and participate in professional development opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; a focus on mathematics is preferred.
- Valid teaching certification or license in the state is preferred.
- Previous experience teaching middle school math is preferred.
- Strong understanding of math concepts and curriculum for 6th grade preferred.
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate students in a classroom setting.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful classroom environment.
