    The Highland Local School District has an opening for a Middle School Physical Education Teacher 
    for the 2026-2027 school year.

    CERTIFICATION: Ohio Multi-Age (K-12) Licensure in Physical Education is required; Adaptive Physical 
    Education and/or Health endorsement is preferred.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1.  Appropriate teaching certificate or license required.
    2. Strong undergraduate grade point average � (preferable above 3.0 / B average) from the 
         institution granting the bachelor's diploma with demonstrated expertise in both content and 
         pedagogy.
    3. Successful documented performance in the classroom as a teacher or pre-service educator of 
        middle school students.
    4. Has a comprehensive understanding of the Ohio Standards and the Ohio Model Curriculum for 
        Physical Education.
    5.  Has a command of strategies to challenge and engage students.
    6.  Differentiates for students at all levels of physical abilities.
    7.  Selects and uses effective instructional methods and materials.
    8.  Recognizes that physical activity is important for lifelong health and wellness.
    9. Possesses the knowledge, capabilities, and dispositions to develop as a reflective practitioner 
        and continuous learner.

    SALARY:
    The person selected to fill this position will be placed at the appropriate step of the salary 
    schedule contained in the negotiated agreement between the HEA and the Highland Board of Education.
