This position is for a Research Assistant to support research in seafloor acoustics. The Research Assistant will be supporting ongoing programs in Dr. Jenna Hare’s laboratory in the Center for Coastal and Ocean Mapping. Research support will include preparation and calibration of scientific equipment for laboratory and field experiments, data analysis and conducting a literature review to support ongoing research projects.
Duties/Responsibilities
Calibration of scientific equipment using established protocols (20%)
Preparation of scientific equipment for laboratory and field experiments (20%)
Analysis of data collected in laboratory and field measurements using standard tools and protocols (30%)
Conduct literature review to guide data analysis and support ongoing research projects (30%)
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Physics
Course work in underwater acoustics
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Laboratory experience following established scientific protocols
Coding experience in both Python and Matlab
Experience using LaTeX

Compensation Pay Range:
$27 per hour
