Executive Director

Head of Americas Retail Sales and Distribution

Retail is the fastest growing trading segment for CME Group globally.  With record participation from active self-directed traders, more online brokers launching with CME, new retail-focused products including our entry into prediction markets, there’s never been a more exciting moment to join the team. This role is responsible for leading the growth and development of CME Group’s retail business in the Americas with existing key broker/channel partners and bringing in new brokers to offer futures, options and prediction markets. The successful candidate will have passion for the retail segment, proven sales leadership experience,  an entrepreneurial / investment mindset, and collaborative spirit.  This role will have a strong partnership with their APAC and EMEA sales lead counterparts and with key partners across Marketing, Education, Data Services and Product. This role will have an active voice in helping shape and evolve our global Retail strategy.  This leadership role will be based in Chicago and report to the Managing Director of Retail and Marketing. 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Lead a regional sales and distribution team who develops and manages relationships with key retail brokers and channel partners to increase revenue across CME Group products and services. 

  • Ensure creation and effective implementation of account plans for top accounts. This account plan helps bring together the Retail team to help broker partners grow their business - marketing, education, product and market data. 

  • Bring in additional new leading brokers/channel partners to offer our futures, options and prediction market products. 

  • Proactively monitor shifts in the Americas retail landscape and emerging trends to provide actionable insights that inform our Retail strategy and product development.

  • Drive sales team excellence by mentoring talent through active coaching, skill development, creating sales targets and enforcing clear performance standards to ensure consistent goal alignment. 

  • Partner with your team to develop relationships with executive, business development and senior level individuals at existing top partners and prospective firms. 

  • Maintain strong working knowledge of CME Group retail focused products across Equities, Indices, Metals, Energy, Prediction Markets, Crypto and Data Services. 

  • Leverage a metrics-based framework of sales pipeline and client engagement to help partners 1) grow their new accounts and 2) increase the value of their existing accounts. 

  • Diligently and consistently leverage the CRM system to manage and track sales and account activity for your team. 

  • Leverage internal data sources to develop ideas to help brokers partners grow their CME Group futures and options business. 

  • The role will require approximately 15% of time spent traveling.

Qualifications:

  • You have 20 years experience within derivatives trading, preferable in the Retail segment

  • You’re a demonstrated sales leader - 10+ years in leading a sales or business team

  • You have a strong understanding, passion and relationships in active retail trading -  brokers,  social and charting platforms, competitors, crypto, trends and behaviors in retail products, market makers, clearing firms, etc. 

  • You enjoy and have proven experience developing and mentoring talent

  • You’ve proven to meet or exceed sales or business targets 

  • You’re an excellent cross functional collaborator and enjoy bringing people together

  • You’re very knowledgeable about the futures, prediction markets, crypto ecosystems 

  • You develop relationships and persuasively communicate with clients, business stakeholders and senior management 

  • You’re confident in your ability to identify, qualify and engage new firms to offer futures, options and prediction market products to their clients

  • You’re a problem solver who works through conflict and responds quickly to change and ambiguity

  • You value curiosity, a global perspective and building on the ideas of others

  • You have a familiarity with technology, data and systems - Salesforce, Tableau, Business Intelligence reporting tools, Gemini and Google Workspace

The pay range for this role is $215,300-$358,900. Actual salary offered will be dependent on a wide array of factors including but not limited to: relevant experience, skills, education and comparison to internal employees (where relevant).
