Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Processing and Food Ingredients group. We are looking for a Process Technician to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives at our plant located in Annawan, IL. You must be detail oriented, have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, display a good working attitude that promotes teamwork, and be self-motivated. 

Responsibilities

  •  Be trained by a knowledgeable staff member to be able to perform the tasks associated with the safe, efficient operation of he ethanol facility.
  •  Become knowledgeable in process & operations and understand chemical,& biological,& mechanical principles.
  •  Conduct inspections of key process points, make necessary adjustments and identify problems on equipment under your direction.
  •  Ensure products meet specifications.
  •  Run routine laboratory analysis as scheduled or directed.
  •  Conduct basic preventative maintenance as required and assist maintenance techs as needed.
  •  Follow all established safety rules and procedures; alert management of all safety concerns.
  •  Monitor, maintain, and care for all issued tools.
  •  Attend the monthly employee training.
  •  Work together with fellow technicians in a professional manner.
  •  Keep work area clean, orderly, and in safe condition.
  •  Wear eye protection at all times, hearing protection and hard hat when required.
  •  Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
  •  Process operators work a rotating 12-hour shift to cover 24/7, you may be called upon to cover openings on a shift other than your own.
  •  Work extended hours as needed to meet business demands.
  •  Approach every task with safety as the first work consideration. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Identify and mitigate hazards before starting work tasks. Maintain situational awareness to identify and mitigate potential hazards while performing work tasks.
  •  Participate in process improvement activities.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift, use tools, shovel, sweep, load & unload, and carry materials up to 50lbs frequently
  • Able to climb ladders and work at heights up to 120ft
  • Able to stand, walk, and climb stairs continuously
  • Able to work in noisy, dusty, and all weather conditions
  • Able to pass pre-employment medical and fit test for respirator use
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
