Job Description

Your role at St John of God Social Outreach

We are seeking applications for a Quality and Development Coordinator to join our Social Outreach team in Perth, on a permanent full-time basis.

The Quality and Development Coordinator is responsible for the provision of service excellence through the development and support of our caregivers in line with best practice principles and compliance with regulations and quality processes.

You will provide leadership, strategic direction and coordination of the learning and development activities, quality improvement and risk management programs across the hospital/service, maintaining accreditation and licensing obligations

The Position

  • Develop, implement and coordinate Hospital/Service’s risk management system and quality improvement strategies to enhance the quality, safety, effectiveness and efficiency of services and programs. Ensure measures and outcomes are reported and escalated as required.

  • Develop and maintain the Hospital/Service-wide risk profile and risk register including escalation of risks and monitoring of control mechanisms.

  • Develop and maintain a Hospital/Service-wide quality improvement plan for the continued evolution of quality and risk management.

  • Periodically review and evaluate the Hospital/Service’s quality and risks frameworks and programs, providing advice and recommendations to the relevant Manager and/or Service Management Committee.

  • Support caregivers to review trends and assist with the identification of risk minimisation strategies to improve outcomes.

  • Support departments and/or caregivers to identify, implement and evaluate continuous quality improvement initiatives.

  • Coordinate the Hospital/Service audit program and assist departments to monitor care in relation to patient/client safety outcomes.

  • Facilitate the reporting of quality and risk data and/or initiatives to the relevant Manager or Hospital/Service committees.

We are seeking a confident leader with demonstrated experience in change management, team building and stakeholder engagement skills, who can always communicate clearly and sensitively with staff at all levels. This role will require skills in managing resources, coordinating education activities and producing high quality reports.

Successful applicants must hold formal qualifications in either quality, education or related field, or have extensive relevant experience in training needs analysis, delivery and evaluation of learning initiatives using the principles of adult learning and a range of educational approaches.

We can offer you

  • Salary: $124,196 to $137,946 plus 12% Superannuation

  • Permanent full-term, working 38 hours per week
