SHIFT MANAGER



JOB SUMMARY:



Shift Manager is responsible for providing effective leadership of production and material handling operations and supervises assigned team members. The Shift Manager should be dedicated to create a safe environment where team members understand and observe Company’s values.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Responsible for the production, assembly, and sequencing operations of the entire plant.

  • Oversee all operational launch activities.

  • Lead and develop Team Leaders.

  • Must be an ‘on the production floor’ leader-observing, analyzing, questioning, discussing, teaching and leading others.

  • Active leader in problem solving analysis and develop irreversible corrective actions of quality issues.

  • Ensure compliance with company’s quality policies, values and philosophies.

  • Ensure short term and long-term goals are accomplished.

  • Administer operating systems to manage all production operations.

  • Maintain safe operations and a clean work area by adhering to safety and housekeeping procedures/regulations.

  • Complete all necessary forms, documents and reports within a timely fashion, as required by Company quality management system.

  • All other duties as assigned.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Field or 10+ years’ experience as Shift Manager in automotive industry



TRAVEL:



  • Travel Required: minimum



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:



  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes of the automotive industry.

  • Must be willing and able to rotate to different shifts as deemed necessary.

  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with all team members.

  • Strong knowledge of tooling, equipment, automation and engineering specifications in automotive assembly applications.

  • Good organizational and administrative skills.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, problem solving and teamwork skills.

  • Open minded, willing to take responsibility, result oriented.

  • Microsoft Office tools experience.

  • Demonstrated use of data-based decision making and problem solving.

  • Understanding of operations principles.

  • Familiarity with operation technological tools.
