Job Description

About the Role

Global hiring is complex and fragmented. Every country brings its own compensation models, contract structures, work-hour norms, statutory benefits, tax regimes, onboarding requirements, payroll rails, and reporting obligations. We’re building the system that supports these needs with a fast, consistent and compliant experience.

We’re looking for a Director of Product to own our end-to-end Global hiring, onboarding, and compliance platform. This leader will be accountable for a multi-surface, multi-country platform that powers the full employment lifecycle from offer creation through compliant onboarding and ongoing regulatory coverage.

This role spans:

  • Hiring core (web, mobile, APIs): own the foundational hiring workflows that power every employee globally — offer generation, approvals, bulk hiring, integrations, configurability, performance, and reliability.
  • Country-level hiring primitives: design the abstractions that encode country nuance into scalable building blocks — compensation structures (e.g., CTC and beyond), work patterns, contracts, tenure rules, and vacation policies.
  • Onboarding and work authorisation: own global onboarding flows — including work authorisation, immigration, I-9, background checks, employment verification, and country-specific requirements.
  • Compliance, reporting & partner ecosystem: own compliance coverage, regulatory reporting, entity compliance, and partner experiences for accountants and brokers.  (accountants and brokers, verification providers).

This is a leadership role where you will define the strategy and execution plan to make global hiring fast, configurable, compliant, and reliable at scale — without heavy operational lift. The systems you build will determine how companies hire across borders for the next decade.

What You'll Do

  • Own the vision and execution for Rippling’s global hiring and onboarding platform across all markets
  • Lead a team of senior Product Leads across multiple pods (Hiring core, Country-specific primitives, Onboarding, Partner experiences and Compliance)
  • Drive measurable improvements in:
    • Time to hire and onboard
    • Launch velocity for new payroll/EOR markets
    • Flow efficiency and configurability
    • Abstract country-level complexity into scalable, reusable primitives (compensation structures, work patterns, contracts, policies)
  • Build opinionated, configurable workflows that reduce reliance on ops and support
  • Strengthen reliability and performance across hiring and onboarding surfaces
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Compliance, Legal, Payroll Ops, and GTM to align the expansion strategy with product architecture
  • Balance expansion into new geographies with depth and quality in core markets
  • Serve as a senior product leader, raising the bar on execution, clarity, and judgment across the org

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of Product Management experience
  • Proven experience leading managers and senior IC PMs across multiple teams
  • Experience owning complex, multi-surface platforms with regulatory or country-specific complexity
  • Strong systems thinker — you see abstractions and primitives, not just features
  • Track record of shipping both 0-to-1 launches and scaled products used by large customer bases
  • Comfortable operating at multiple altitudes: strategy, architecture, UX details, and execution rigour
  • Strong cross-functional leadership across engineering, compliance, operations, and GTM
  • High ownership mindset — you are accountable for outcomes, not output
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, and comfortable working in a highly cross-functional role
  • Experience in HR, payroll, EOR, compliance, and/or fintech industry is a strong plus
  • Strong alignment with our leadership principles: in particular, Go and See, and Are Right, a Lot.
