Job Description

Middle School Girls Basketball Coach


Location: Worthington, Minnesota




Position Overview


The Middle School Basketball Coach is responsible for leading and developing student-athletes in a positive, educational environment. This role focuses on teaching fundamental basketball skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship while preparing players for progression to higher levels of competition.




Key Responsibilities




  • Plan and conduct practices focused on fundamental skill development




  • Coach games and implement age-appropriate strategies




  • Teach teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship




  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team events




  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff




  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants






Qualifications




  • Knowledge of basketball rules, skills, and basic strategies




  • Strong leadership and communication skills




  • Coaching and/or playing experience preferred




  • Ability to work with middle school–aged students
