Job Description

UFP Site Built is the leader in designing and manufacturing value-added wood and non-wood products for the construction industry. We offer a wide variety of wood structural components, aluminum decks and rails, and light gauge steel structural components.

Multi-Family Design Supervisor is responsible for oversight of the accurate design of roof and floor trusses for multi-family and commercial projects, for a team of designers. 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Manages all design team functions for the Commercial/Multi-Family Design Team
  • Sets goals and works to achieve company expectations regarding design functions
  •  Works with Regional Design Manager to staff, develop, and coach design team
  • Evaluates performance and initiates corrective action as required
  • Assists sales and production with design service and troubleshooting
  • Monitors department output to ensure efficient resource utilization and initiates corrective action as required
  • Prepares various reports and attends management meetings as required
  • Performs other duties as required


KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor degree in related discipline or equivalent experience is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial and multi-family truss design required, with managerial experience preferred
  • Working knowledge and experience using Mitek software
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing and speaking 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, including customers, peers, and management 
  • Ability to manage several activities/projects at once, to organize and prioritize work, to meet deadlines, to prepare plans, goals and budgets
  • Ability to use a computer and show proficiency in the use of Mitek and other business and design related software.
  • Ability to successfully interact with all organizational levels and the public
  • Be mobile in the work environment, travel and work hours mandated by management
  • Ability to pass a drug test
