PURPOSE:
The Primary purpose of this position is to assist Silver State Schools Credit Union to live out its Mission, "Excellent Member Service and Financial Solutions – For Life," while "Placing People over Profit" and providing outstanding service to both members and internal members. Develop a highly effective team of employees to their highest potential through coaching and leadership. Responsible for ensuring that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members. A key component of this service is to identify the financial needs of the member and recommend an appropriate credit union solution.

Summary:
The Credit Resolutions Manager is responsible for managing and controlling loan losses within the credit union's loan portfolio. This position requires extensive training and mentoring with the collections staff as well as providing support and assistance to the AVP of Loan Servicing & Credit Resolutions. The Credit Resolutions Manager will endeavor to ensure that the credit union is proactive in avoiding loan losses and pursuing prompt recovery of all monies owed to the credit union in a timely manner.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following but are not limited to. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Ensures that all department functions conform to all state and/or national legislative and regulatory requirements and to all credit union policies, operating guidelines, and procedures in a timely manner, preparing response(s) to audit/examination findings and correcting deficiencies in a timely manner both for internal and external serviced loans.
  • Overseeing all the Credit Resolution Department's routine and cyclical functions
  • Validate the CR&LS Operational Guideline for updates and improvements
  • Model and ensure The Credit Resolution Team is exemplifying the credit unions mission and leadership expectations with the ability to inspire and empower our associates to do their best work while creating an inclusive environment for all.
  • Mentor and influence The Credit Resolutions Team overseeing the day-to-day operations, daily tasks, identifying process improvement, apply live training by handling escalated interactions with members and that key operations and regulatory requirements are met
  • Prepares Monthly the delinquency, estimated charge off, collateral in liquidation, repossession sold, charge off recommendations and various watchlists reporting to the Allowance Committee
  • Vendor Management
  • Partner with analysts, technology, and digital leaders to develop and implement plans for the operation infrastructure of systems, process, and personnel to drive advances for operational enhancement, excellence, and improved member experiences
  • Ensure key operation and regulatory requirements are met
  • Assigns accounts to be worked and maintains a system of control that indicates progress. Monitor's payments received on delinquent accounts and applies more stringent loss mitigation actions when necessary. Employs legal processes to be initiated and alternative collection methods to minimize credit union loss exposure.
  • Contribute to the proper framework and management controls – including metrics, quality assurance/control, and capacity planning; drive innovation in process excellence internally and with 3rd party servicers/agencies
  • Handles escalated questions from members, employees, and vendors. Interfaces with credit union departments as needed to determine the most effective method of maximizing recovery
  • Fortify best practice and regulatory requirements on the servicing and collections of First Mortgages, Home Equity's, Member Business Loans, and all Consumer loans
  • Oversees loss mitigation activities are completed to maintain delinquency ratios set forth by senior management.
  • Provide guidance to the REO/Foreclosure Specialist to ensure safekeeping and maintenance of acquired properties, included but not limited to eviction, clean up, securing, preparing property for sale. and disposing of the property
  • Proficient operation of technology used in the Consumer and Mortgage Lending
  • Keeps the allowance committee apprised on all loan losses.
  • Credit Migration – Credit Disparagement - Monitors and review open-end lines of credit and credit cards, based on a member's most recent credit score and other characteristics. Reduces or cancels credit limits in conformity with current lending guidelines; ensuring prompt delivery of a correct adverse-action notice is delivered to members.
  • Assist AVP with managing the Loan Servicing Department tasks of loan boarding, statements, escrow analyses, quality control/assurance of loan servicing operations, sub servicer management, MERS, force placed insurance tracking and personnel management
  • Assist AVP of Loan Servicing and Credit Resolution with the Loan Servicing Department as needed
  • Assist the AVP of Loan Servicing and Credit Resolutions with compiling data to prepare reports on loan files to recommend for sale on secondary market
  • Assist the AVP of Loan Servicing and Credit Resolutions with compiling data to prepare reports for loans for participation purchase
  • Oversees payment and balancing of system amounts corresponds to general ledger and accounting department instructions.
  • Perform monthly employee call and account QA/QC – audit for service quality and regulatory compliance
  • Manages the controls of third-party agencies as it relates to payment collections and risk exposure
  • Manages third party mortgage sub servicer DMI –Completes QA/QC and Performance Audit
  • Works with other management and their staffs, to ensure harmony and services levels are maintained in all aspects of lending. Works with other operational areas of the credit union to achieve corporate goals.
  • Works with the AVP of Loan Servicing and Credit Resolutions to enhance overall team experience and lending process.
  • Performs such other functions and tasks as assigned by AVP of Loan Servicing and Credit Resolution and executive management.

Education and/or experience:
Associates Degree (AA) degree. or equivalent plus 3 years' collections experience. Advanced knowledge of member business, real estate/mortgage and consumer lending.
