Are you ready to make an IMPACT from day one? Nestled just outside the Great Smoky Mountains, around 30 miles North of Knoxville, in a small, quaint, beautiful town, called Andersonville, sits Norris Academy, a residential treatment facility that offers comprehensive, holistic services to youth with autism spectrum disorders, and/or other neurodevelopmental diagnosis.

Compensation Range: $17 per hour.

What you will do: A day in the life of a Cook at Norris Academy is rarely the same, HARD WORK, EXCITING, IMPACTFUL, and very REWARDING. As a cook at Norris Academy, you will be preparing nutritious, balanced meals and snacks for our residents and staff. This is a 100% onsite position. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing meals, and then grilling, frying, or baking it, adjusting to dietary needs for 3 meals per day plus snack for 60-100 people in a residential cafeteria 365 days a year. 
  • Serving meals and maintaining food safety
  • Cleaning workspaces, utensils, & dishes, and sanitizing
  • Enforce facility rules, policies, and routines

To be considered you should:

  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Have a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Be able to pass a background screening, drug test, and physical
  • Have a passion to work with and help children
