 REQUIREMENTS






















EDUCATION LEVEL:



Two years post high school education or higher or able to pass a standardized test approved by the State of South Dakota.



EXPERIENCE DESIRED:



One to three years of sustained employment



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



This position requires constant hand-eye, mind-eye coordination, hearing; intermittent grasping, keyboarding, speaking, and writing. Frequent filing, sitting, standing, and walking are also required. The ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and the ability to drive a car are also required. Regular contact with students with emotional and conduct related disorders.



OTHER REQUIREMENTS:



Regular, reliable attendance. Experience with behavior management. Ability to use a computer for word processing and data entry. Ability to maintain confidential information. Frequent exposure to physical and verbal abuse. Due to the nature of a behavior program and of the students assigned, required the ability to work in a stressful environment.





ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES



  1. Prepares instructional materials.

  2. Reinforces instructional objectives.

  3. Follows and carries out behavioral management plans.

  4. Tutors students on academics.

  5. Refers problems to professional staff.

  6. Maintains consistent discipline.

  7. Maintains student progress and attendance records.

  8. Corrects student assignments.

  9. Escorts students within the building and occasionally accompanies students into the community.

  10. Maintain the confidentiality of students and their families.

  11. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.




PAY INFORMATION


Level G, Starting at $18.12 + $2* = 20.12 per hour + $1,000 Sign-On Bonus! 


*This position earns the Education Support Professional differential pay. Each position that qualifies for the Education Support Professional differential pay earns an additional $2 per hour. 


 


Pay Day: Last working day of each month, based on the payroll cutoff schedule

HOURS & FTE


Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 3:30pm with a 30-minute unpaid break. 


 


0.875 FTE, 35 hours per week, 9 months
