Description
The Kitchen Technician plays a crucial role in the production of cannabis-infused edibles and beverages. Working in a cannabis kitchen environment, this position involves following recipes, operating kitchen equipment, and adhering to strict quality and safety standards to ensure the consistent production of high-quality cannabis products. The Kitchen Technician collaborates with kitchen staff and management to meet production goals while maintaining compliance with regulations governing cannabis-infused products.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Production Operations
• Prepare cannabis-infused edibles and beverages according to standardized recipes and production schedules.
• Measure and mix ingredients accurately, ensuring consistency and quality in finished products.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and extraction machines safely and efficiently.
• Follow established procedures for product packaging, labeling, and storage to maintain freshness and compliance with regulations.
• Monitor production processes to identify and resolve any issues that may affect product quality or safety.
Compliance and Safety
• Adhere to strict compliance regulations governing the production and handling of cannabis-infused products.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen area, following standard operating procedures and health regulations.
• Properly handle and store cannabis products and ingredients, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
• Participate in training programs on food safety, cannabis regulations, and workplace safety practices.
Quality Control
• Conduct quality checks throughout the production process to ensure products meet established standards for taste, texture, and potency.
• Document production activities, including batch records, inventory logs, and quality control reports.
• Assist in conducting internal audits and inspections to verify compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance
Team Collaboration
• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and assistants, to coordinate production activities and achieve production targets.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure clear understanding of tasks and expectations.
• Support a positive and inclusive work environment, fostering teamwork and mutual respect among colleagues.
• Provide training and guidance to new team members, sharing knowledge and best practices for cannabis kitchen operations.
Requirements
Education and Experience
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in medical cannabis industry is desirable, but not required.
• Knowledge of food safety principles and regulations, including HACCP and GMP.
• Ability to prioritize safety practices and follow standard operating procedures.
• Ability to take direction and complete daily tasks with minimal supervision.
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner.
• Communicate fluently in English (verbal and written).
• Ability to maintain product accurately and efficiently.
• Ability to communicate with other staff and associates in all situations.
• Ability to perceive and meet the needs of team members and management.
• Punctual, professional, and able to communicate clearly with your managers and other staff.
• Knowledgeable on strains, genetics, and cultivation practices.
• Repetitive use of fine motor skills using scissors,.
• High level of efficiency, patience, and flexibility.
• Must meet and clear the state affiliation process.
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently, with attention to detail.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work may require prolonged standing, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and push/pull up to 100 pounds also use assistance (multiple people, forklift, dolly, etc.) when lifting/moving over 100 pounds. Frequent holding/grasping with the hands when loading and unloading equipment. Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate manicuring tools other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing. Requires adequate vision with the ability to see color and adjust focus.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed at a busy outdoor and indoor cannabis facility. The outdoor/indoor facility is exposed to the natural elements. Workers should be prepared for fluctuating cold mornings and hot afternoons weather, sun exposure, and allergies. Work may be stressful at times and may include dealing with difficult people and/or law enforcement. Available to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, holidays, and/or events during harvest periods is required.
