Reporting to the VP of Project Development & Delivery, this role sits at the center of site origination, master planning, and front-end engineering—turning early-stage opportunities into build-ready projects.

You’ll own campus-level design thinking, guide technical direction, and ensure projects align with IREN’s standards, scalability goals, and performance expectations. This is a high-impact role shaping next-generation infrastructure for AI and cloud compute.

Job requirements

  • ~10+ years in data center, mission-critical, or large-scale infrastructure design/development
  • Background in engineering or architecture
  • Experience with campus master planning and front-end design
  • Strong understanding of data center systems, constructability, and design standards
  • Ability to lead consultants and manage cross-functional stakeholders
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency with tools like AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project

Job responsibilities

  • Lead site master planning and conceptual design for new data center campuses
  • Drive front-end engineering to ensure designs are scalable, buildable, and operationally efficient
  • Translate development opportunities into technically sound, execution-ready plans
  • Partner across development, engineering, innovation, and construction teams
  • Manage architectural and engineering consultants from concept through detailed design
  • Ensure alignment with IREN’s design roadmap, codes, and regulatory requirements
  • Support site due diligence, feasibility studies, and design standardization efforts
  • Facilitate smooth handover from development to delivery
