Position Overview

Summertown Metals of Hopkinsville is seeking a Barndominium to coordinate and support residential construction projects from scheduling through completion. This position works directly with subcontractors, contractors, customers, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed efficiently, on schedule, and according to Summertown’s quality standards.

 

The Barndominium Coordinator plays an important role in construction scheduling, subcontractor communication, and project coordination, ensuring that materials, labor, and timelines align throughout the building process.

Construction, building materials, or residential construction experience strongly preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate residential construction projects and maintain build timelines.
  • Serve as the primary point of communication for subcontractors and contractors.
  • Ensure subcontractors understand project specifications, expectations, and schedules.
  • Monitor construction progress and address scheduling or coordination challenges.
  • Communicate project updates with customers, subcontractors, and internal departments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of project timelines, project status, and customer concerns.
  • Assist in evaluating subcontractors and ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct build checks and inspections as needed to maintain quality control.
  • Identify potential delays and implement solutions to keep projects moving forward.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure materials, scheduling, and communication remain aligned.
  • Support the development of build coordination processes and best practices.

Required Experience

  • Experience in residential construction, building materials, subcontractor coordination, or construction project coordination.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and construction timelines simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clear driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in business, construction management, or related field.
  • Two years of construction coordination or project management experience.
  • Experience with construction software platforms such as Odoo, ClickUp, or similar systems.
  • Familiarity with residential construction processes and subcontractor scheduling.
