Job Description

 

Position Description

The Senior Associate will join our US office as a member of the Central Data Team. This individual will be a key part of a newly established and growing team responsible for all areas of data and data analytics. The Associate will play a significant role in the firm’s efforts to enhance our core data function across the US business. The Associate is expected to gain exposure to and develop a strong understanding of our investment process and all parts of the firm, partnering closely with the CIO organization, investment teams, and client-facing stakeholders.

This role will support US-based priorities while working collaboratively with global colleagues across the firm. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating across teams and time zones as needed and will build strong cross-functional relationships, which are critical to success in this position.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure investment, client, and portfolio datasets are accurate, complete, and accessible for the Client CIO business across monitoring, analysis, and decision-support workflows.
  • Prepare and validate data inputs for portfolio analytics, investment dashboards, internal performance monitoring, and governance/committee materials.
  • Apply agreed data definitions and calculation methodologies, performing quality checks to ensure outputs are consistent, explainable, and audit ready.
  • Manage ad hoc data requests from senior stakeholders by clarifying requirements, sourcing the right data, prioritising delivery, and communicating findings clearly.
  • Design and embed repeatable data processes (e.g., standard checks, exception logs, automated refreshes, documented workflows) to improve reliability and timeliness.
  • Capture and validate private equity transaction and cash flow data, including capital calls, distributions, fees/expenses, and cash movements.
  • Track and reconcile key PE attributes (fund/entity mapping, investor allocations, dates, amounts, currency, status, notice/settlement details) against external sources, escalating discrepancies.
  • Maintain structured private equity cash flow records and reporting outputs to support liquidity planning, cash forecasting, operational execution, and client reporting.
  • Gather, clean, and ingest large datasets from internal systems and external providers, resolving gaps/anomalies and standardising templates and processing steps to reduce manual work and improve accuracy.Top of Form
  • Ensure complete, accurate tracking of all investment documents including but not limited to PPMs, LPAs, monthly statements, capital statements, quarterly and annual financial statements. Bottom of Form
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and contribute to ongoing projects, including process enhancements and data platform improvements.
  • Build strong relationships across the firm, especially with the wider Central Data Team, and serve as a reliable partner who can translate requirements into structured data solutions.
  • Communicate effectively across levels of seniority, including summarising complex data topics clearly and escalating risks or issues in a timely manner.
  • Support coordination across regions (including the US) and contribute to consistent global processes, ensuring handoffs and shared deliverables are well managed.

Key responsibilities may be assessed and are subject to change from time to time based on the needs of the business. The individual may be required to work overtime as needed.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for ensuring all information security processes, policies and procedures are adhered to and any issues or concerns are raised with the Cyber Security team
  • Ensure full compliance with all local data protection regulations and privacy controls, and any related issues are raised via the appropriate channels

Required:

  • Strong quantitative/numerical background; bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with coursework in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Private Equity and Hedge Fund structures, strategies, and operations.
  • Prior exposure to data or analytics through internships, coursework, or previous roles is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and is highly comfortable working with numbers and reconciling data for accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with clear, logical thinking and the ability to troubleshoot issues independently.
  • Ability to prioritize a daily workload while working efficiently and accurately under pressure and against deadlines.
  • Proven ability to multitask and operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-performance investment environment.
  • Articulate self-starter with strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with peers and senior stakeholders across the firm.
  • High degree of integrity and professionalism; collaborative team player with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint (advanced Excel skills required)
  • Proficient in handling and analysing large data sets with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • SQL, Python, and/or Power BI experience is a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of Bloomberg Terminal and MSCI data platforms.

Massachusetts requires Partners Capital to include a reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role. This base salary range is specific to individuals applying to work in our Massachusetts office and takes into account a number of factors. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role in Massachusetts is $80,000 - $100,000. The base salary offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

The base salary is one element of our competitive compensation package. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives and our profit share program.
