Job Description

General Description/ Objective



Responsible for mixing, matching, and applying paint to various surfaces, completing touchups, and coordinating large painting projects.





Roles and Tasks




  • Analyze and prepare (cleaning, sanding down, etc.) surfaces to be painted.

  • Verify the functionality of required equipment prior to its use.

  • Calculate the amount of raw materials for paint.

  • Identify, prepare and apply the paint in surfaces.

  • Internal and external cleaning (blowing or sanding) between layers.

  • Clean the dirt inside the sections.

  • Burnishing and retouch surfaces painted.

  • Dry surfaces painted and repair equipment.

  • Perform transport of metallic structures using bridge-crane or forklift.

  • Inform your superior about anomalies, damages, accidents, absenteeism, etc.

  • Optimize the means and tools placed at their disposal.

  • Avoid unnecessary downtime in the process; ensuring productivity and daily targets are achieved.

  • Filling in all inspection and production forms as required.

  • Attend training program when called.

  • Perform other tasks consistent with the requirements for the exercise of the function.

  • Perform other tasks per supervisors request.

  • Respect Safety Standards and use of PPE.

  • Clock-in and clock-out (mark attendance with the punch card) at the beginning and at the end of the shift.

  • Execute clock-in and barcode reading in the SAP stations at the beginning and at the end of each task in production.

  • Carry out activities related to 5S in the area.

Profile/ Professional Competencies/ Job Requirements



Education Requirements




  • High School or equivalent (GED), or

  • Elementary education plus minimum experience required.





Specific Knowledge




  • Painting operations with pressure nozzle.

  • Surface preparation.

  • Painting Specifications.

  • Ability to read DFT gauge and interpret drawings.





Languages




  • Able to communicate and/or to read and understand instructions in English





IT/ Technical Knowledge




  • Basic computer knowledge





Minimum Experience Required




  • Six months on manufacturing, assembly or industrial process.



Internal Candidates and/or Employees from other GRI factories, are considered competent for this job if they have at least 2 years of experience on similar processes.





Preferable Requirements




  • SAP

  • Bilingual (English-Spanish)

  • Interpersonal Relationships, focused attention, flexibility, initiative, organization and commitment.
