    Description:
    Sun West School Division invites applications for a Facilities Project Supervisor for the Sun West School Division, Rosetown, SK.  This is a permanent position, 37.5 hours per week, commencing as soon as possible. The Facilities Project Supervisor will be responsible for developing the project schedule and determining feasibility, including scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation and other deliverables for construction and renovation projects

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Works as a member of the Facilities Team to develop and implement the school division's Strategic Facilities Plan.
    2. Creates, plans, and manages project schedules, timelines, and deliverables.
    3. Coordinates with third-party contractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure the flawless execution of projects.
    4. Supports the goal of minimizing project risks and ensuring strong quality assurance standards throughout project life cycles.
    5. Communicates regularly with schools and administrators regarding facility needs, project updates, and timelines.
    6. Collaborates with Facilities staff and the Facilities, IT, and Transportation Manager on facilities initiatives and operational improvements.
    7. Coordinates and manages project budgets, expenditures, and purchasing processes.
    8. Ensures project costs align with approved budgets and funding guidelines.
    9. Provides leadership, direction, and timeline guidance for a team of facilities staff.
    10. Supervises and evaluates the performance of assigned facilities employees.

    Qualifications and skills:

    • A Journeyman's Certificate and/or other related certification, would be considered a definite asset.
    • A minimum of three (3) years of project management with progressively responsible experience in managing projects and staffing.
    • Experience in a leadership role, which includes the supervision of staff, would be considered an asset.
    • Supervisory experience and additional project management experience would be a significant asset.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of project management methodologies, including project planning, scheduling, reporting, risk assessment, and budgeting.
    • Ability to work independently and as a team member of the Facilities department, all schools and the division office as required
    • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with all levels of staff within the school system, with local and provincial organizations; and with a broad cross section of the local community.
    • Working knowledge of project management methodology including plan development, scheduling, project reporting, risk assessment, and budgeting.
    • Strong attention to detail with solid analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to navigate complex, ambiguous, or hard-to-obtain information.
    • Develop, convey, and carry out oral and written communication skills.

    Some travel will be required to fulfill the duties of this position.
