The Production Supervisor is responsible for all activities production. The Production Supervisor participates in achieving operational and financial goals, drives teamwork and supervises team members to achieve results. This position ensures compliance and adherence to all applicable internal and regulatory requirements for Occupational Safety and Health and maintains Saxco Safety standards.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all activities in support of packaging and production.
- Ensures accurate and timely production to achieve our goal of accurate deliveries to our customers.
- Evaluates quality of work, looking for accuracy, timeliness, neatness, and adherence to all Company policies and safety standards.
- Prints paperwork and ensures all paperwork is accurate and production orders are fulfilled.
- Ensures that all raw materials, finished goods and labor related to production order information is documented accurately and entered into the system.
- Assists Manager by identifying and suggesting work procedures and process improvements.
- Manages and maintains paperwork and records, including shift paper work.
- Interacts with other departments to ensure the proper flow of materials into and out of all areas of the facility.
Team Management
- Ensures a daily hand-off occurs with other shift(s)
- Communicates proactively and promptly with necessary functions / individuals regarding issues with fulfilling loads
- Supervises employee performance and productivity and provides in-the-moment coaching, recognition, and performance management as needed for team members.
- Leverages productivity reporting to coach team and individuals toward expected levels of performance
- With Production Scheduling and Production Manager, develops appropriate work schedules to meet business demands/needs.
- Assist employees with work processes and work-related concerns or issues.
- Listens to employee grievances and assist to mitigate fair resolution.
- Holds employees accountable for misconduct, not meeting expectations, or not complying with company policies or procedures.
Other Responsibilities
- Ability to work the evening shift, when required, a plus.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Position-Specific Skills Required
The ideal candidate:
- 3-5 year’s manufacturing or distribution center, logistics, or warehouse experience.
- Ability to supervisor a Production Team to achieve daily results.
- Strong problem-solving, working understanding of the 5 S’s, Lean process, teamwork and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage time, and meet all specified deadlines.
- Fluent in Spanish and English, a plus.
- Forklift certified.
Leadership Skills Required
- Prior experience as a supervisor overseeing and directing others.
- Ability to influence people and get results through others.
- Strong ability to collaborate and build internal and external relationships.
- A strong customer focus and service orientation.
- Authentic and approachable personality that can connect with a diverse range of people.
- A motivated self-starter who can work well both independently and as part of a team.

Technical Skills Required
- Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, AX, Outlook.
- Microsoft Dynamics, a plus.
- Strong prioritizing and time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
Education/Training Required
- High School degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from a certified college.
- 3-5 year’s manufacturing, distribution center, logistics, or warehouse experience required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs which includes occasional and repetitive lifting.
- Sitting 10%, walking 60%, standing 30%.
- Mobility in warehouse environment.
- Long periods of standing, twisting and bending.
- Position involves computer work and use of other standard office equipment
