Customer Accounting Analyst – Lafayette, IN

What You’ll Do as a Customer Accounting Analyst

In this role, you’ll play a critical part in assessing customer creditworthiness, managing accounts receivable activity, and supporting the company’s financial stability.

 

You’ll:

  • Perform financial, ratio, and cash flow analysis to support sound credit decisions and reduce company receivables
  • Assess financial statements, credit history, balance sheets, and legal documents for the purpose of creditworthiness
  • Record accurate journal entries using cash application principles to maintain the integrity of financial records and support reliable financial reporting
  • Resolve accounts receivable issues, including past-due balances, invoice discrepancies, and check variances to maintain accurate accounts and timely collections
  • Prepare, analyze, and maintain credit files throughout the account lifecycle, ensuring data accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Process lien waivers, maintain lien documentation, and demonstrate knowledge of lien regulations to ensure compliance and reduce financial risk
  • Prioritize account management through review, analysis, and monitoring of aging reports to identify risk early and take proactive, appropriate action
  • Foster professional relationships with customers to discuss credit status, financing options, and conduct occasional site evaluations to enhance credit analysis
  • Cultivate constructive relationships with other business units and departments to support cross-functional collaboration and consistent customer outcomes

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • College degree in relevant field or 3+ years of accounting, credit, finance experience
  • Strong accounting and/or math skills, data entry, balancing, 10-key proficiency
  • Working knowledge of financial ratio analysis, cash flow analysis, and modeling
  • Strong listening skills, attention to detail, and organization skills
  • Advanced interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; with advanced Excel skills preferred

What to Expect in This Role

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Primarily onsite, office-based work in a controlled indoor environment
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Occasional travel
  • Participation in ongoing development training
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm
