Job Summary
Provides safe, effective nursing care to patients through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care within the scope of licensure. Works collaboratively with the healthcare team to promote restorative and supportive care, ensure accurate documentation, deliver patient education, and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.
Minimum Qualifications
• RN: Current Registered Nurse license issued by the Mississippi Board of Nursing.
• OR LPN: Current Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the Mississippi Board of Nursing.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in written and verbal English.
Preferred Qualifications
• CPR certification required for LPN; CPR or ACLS preferred for RN.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform patient assessments and monitor patient conditions within scope of licensure.
• Collect, document, and report patient data accurately and timely.
• Coordinate and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Administer medications safely and monitor patient response per licensure and policy.
• Provide patient and family education related to health conditions, medications, and care plans.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transitions of care.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation in the medical record.
• Promote continuity of care by reporting changes in patient condition to the appropriate provider or RN.
• Demonstrate infection prevention behaviors, including proper hand hygiene and PPE use.
• Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives.
• Support teamwork, unit workflow, and staffing needs as required.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
• Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, and kneeling.
• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs independently; >50 lbs with assistance/devices.
• Assist with patient repositioning and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment.
• Manual dexterity for clinical procedures and computer use; adequate vision, hearing, and speech.
