District Wide Additional Information: Show/Hide - Teach American Red Cross swim classes, from pre-school swim program through Level 6, as well as other instructional swim programs
- Develop and implement lesson plans, test students, and complete student certificates as required by American Red Cross
- If working alone, be prepared to fulfill duties of lifeguard. If working with staff, supervise lifeguards and swim assistants
- Work with swimmers in water as needed
- Operate handicap chair, lift, and rescue equipment as needed
- Respond to emergencies using appropriate first aid
- Teach other non-ARC swim classes or supervise non-instructional swim programs as assigned
- Current American Red Cross certifications for lifeguarding, CPR, first aid, AED, and Water Safety Instructor
- Ability to work effectively with swimmers of various ages and abilities
- Ability to handle handicap chair, lift, and rescue equipment
- Experience as swim instructor preferred but not required

Job Summary:
Working Condition: $18 - more dependent on experience. Hours vary
**Candidates hired for this position will be employed through www.EduStaff.org the educational staffing partner of the Grosse Pointe Public Schools, and will be required to complete a separate Edustaff application and orientation once an employment offer is received.
