Job Description

The Application Administration Manager will lead the planning, coordination, directing, and designing of Application Administration and System Engineering activities, as well as provide leadership, direction, training, and support for the Administrator/Engineering staff. This position will ensure proper work distribution between team members to meet service levels, manage day to day Application Administration operations including monitoring of all logging, alerting and performance tools and responding proactively to issues. They will manage the Administration and Engineering projects/architecture to ensure appropriate application availability and performance for the organization and maintain functionality and operation for the business. The Application Administration Manager will drive team initiatives and goals to completion and work with the software development teams to ensure alignment with team or organization goals.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•    Responsible for the overall health and performance of critical and secondary applications. This includes Prod, Test, Dev, and DR environments
•    Responsible for vulnerability management of applications and utilities managed by the team
•    Ensures confidentiality, integrity, reliability, and availability of Mouser’s systems by proactively participating in architecting and securing Mouser’s application environments
•    Leads a team of Systems Administrators and Engineers in the daily management of critical applications
•    Develops partnerships and work closely with other IS Teams such as Software Development, Server, Network and Security teams
•    Analyzes company and department goals, both operational and strategic and organize the work in support of goals
•    Prioritizes work and tasks for optimal coverage of operational issues including tickets, project work, and incident/on call coverage
•    Proactively use good business judgment and communication to keep management and business liaisons informed regarding status, risks, obstacles, and other related information
•    Develops global team capabilities and ensure 24/7 coverage
•    Participates in on call rotation
•    Develops and maintains a productive work teams by hiring qualified personnel, training, and managing performance.
•    Manages teams with integrity, ethical business practices, and in accordance with Mouser policies, procedures, and practices.
•    Customarily and regularly directs the work of two or more full-time employees or their equivalent. Makes suggestions and recommendation for these employees regarding performance, including hiring, transfer, advancement, and termination.
•    Manages daily operations to meet department and company objectives.
•    Works with minimum supervision and makes independent judgments.
•    Flexible to meet the changing needs of the business and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments.
•    Initiates, establishes and maintains highly effective relationships with internal and external business contacts of various cultures, and at all levels.

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
•    Red Hat, IBM Applications, Cloud, and other relevant IT certifications
•    Experience with Red Hat SSO, BRMS and BPM
•    SQL, Mongo DB and other database administration
•    Rocket Universe Administration experience is a plus
•    Hands on experience with git, gitlab or github
•    Experience managing enterprise applications and systems
•    Experience analyzing application logs
•    Experience with application monitoring and alerting management
•    Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
•    Project management skills related to IT systems projects including technology deployments, installs, migrations, and upgrades
•    Leads technical teams, manages project and systems documentation and timelines, and keeps internal and external stake holders informed of progress and/or obstacles
•    Helps motivate technical teams, communicates business needs clearly, and provides feedback to management as needed
•    Incident management skills including communications procedures, escalations, and root cause analysis

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field. In lieu of a degree, 3 years as a Application Support Manager or a higher-level position. In addition to the above the following experience is required:
•    Internal candidates: Minimum 2 years as a highly performing Mouser Application Administration Team Lead/Supervisor or other equivalent management position.
•    External candidates: Minimum 3 years as a Application Support Manager supervisor or a higher-level management position.
