Position Summary
The Staff Accountant plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close, preparing reconciliations, and assisting with day-to-day accounting operations. This position partners cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure transactions are recorded accurately, accounts are reconciled timely, and financial information is complete and reliable. The role supports a variety of accounting functions including general ledger activity, vendor and expense processing, account analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)
- Prepare, review, and post accounting transactions to ensure accurate financial records
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Review and process invoices, payment requests, and employee expense activity in accordance with company policies
- Maintain accurate vendor and financial records within the ERP system
- Research and resolve discrepancies related to account balances, transactions, and supporting documentation
- Assist in preparing schedules and supporting documentation for audits, tax filings, and financial reporting
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate approvals and financial processing
- Analyze financial data and account activity to identify variances, trends, and areas requiring follow-up
- Help maintain internal controls and support compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and consistency within accounting operations
- Provide support for ad hoc reporting, special projects, and other accounting duties as assigned
