Purpose of Job: Under the supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Services Medical Director and Department Director, the Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing Cardiopulmonary care in accordance with specific physician’s orders and department policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
1. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the differences in techniques and treatment modalities as performed on patients of varying ages.
2. Maintains knowledge of the various methods of respiratory therapy.
3. Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly.
4. Shows proficiency in Arterial Blood Gas collection.
5. Performs and accepts other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
1. Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
2. Licensed and certified respiratory therapist in the state of Ohio.
CUSTOMER SERVICE/TEAMWORK FOCUS:
1. Cooperates well with other staff and management personnel.
2. Must have flexibility in accepting varied hours and shifts according to the needs of the department.
3. Balances the need to complete individual work with overall team, department, or hospital needs and goals.
4. Demonstrates a commitment to meeting patients’ needs and expectations.
5. Projects a professional appearance at all times.
