Experienced Carpenter – Historic Restoration
  • St. Louis Metro | Some Travel Required.

We are hiring a skilled carpenter with historic restoration or high-end finish carpentry experience.

This is not standard construction — we restore and replicate historic architectural details with precision.

What You’ll Do:
  • Restore windows, trim, siding, and wood structures.
  • Perform custom millwork & detail replication.
  • Execute high-end finish carpentry.
  • Use traditional methods (mortise & tenon, etc.).

Requirements:
  • 5+ years carpentry experience.
  • Strong finish carpentry skills.
  • Ability to produce detailed, high-quality work.

Preferred:
  • Historic restoration experience.
  • Window restoration / millwork / cabinetry.
  • Traditional joinery or timber framing.

Labor Law & Compliance Statement (IMPORTANT):
We comply with all applicable federal, Missouri, and Illinois labor laws, including but not limited to:

Wages & Pay:
  • Employees will be paid at least state minimum wage (currently ~$15/hr in both MO & IL).
  • Overtime is paid at time-and-a-half after 40 hours/week.
  • Prevailing wage laws apply on public works projects and will be followed where required.

Worker Classification:
  • Workers will be properly classified as employees or independent contractors in compliance with Illinois and Missouri law.
  • We do not misclassify workers to avoid wages or benefits (strictly enforced in IL construction industry).

Payroll & Final Pay:
  • Employees will receive timely and complete wage payments.
  • Final paychecks will be issued in accordance with Missouri and Illinois law.

Workplace Rights:
  • Equal pay for equal work regardless of gender or protected status.
  • Compliance with anti-discrimination and workplace protection laws.

Safety:
  • All work performed in compliance with OSHA safety standards.
  • Proper safety practices, tools, and jobsite procedures are required.

Public Works (If Applicable):
  • Projects funded by government entities will follow prevailing wage requirements, including wages and benefits set by county classification

Why Work With Us:
  • Work on historic, meaningful structures — not production builds.
  • Be part of a team that values craftsmanship over speed.
  • Long-term, steady work with growth opportunities.
