Position Details:
 

The Part-Time EMS Instructor provides instructional support for Emergency Medical Services programs. This position delivers classroom, laboratory, and/or clinical instruction in accordance with program policies, accreditation standards, and applicable state and national EMS requirements.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Deliver didactic, laboratory, and/or clinical instruction for EMS courses.
  • Evaluate student performance and maintain required academic and skills documentation.
  • Comply with program, college, and accreditation policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • Certificates and/or degrees relevant to Emergency Medical Services education.
  • Current Texas DSHS EMS certification at or above the level being taught and relevant field experience.
  • DSHS Instructor certification.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with program faculty and staff.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
 
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/classroom environment.
  • No or very limited physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
Safety:
  • Provide resources for safe operation of units. Create and support workplace safety.
