LOCATION: EL CAMINO/WHITMAN STABILIZATION SHELTER

REPORTS TO: PROGRAM DIRECTOR

SALARY: $70,000

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Social Worker is responsible for assessing the psychosocial functioning, coordinating mental health and substance abuse treatment, connection to wellness services, crisis intervention and maintaining a caseload of high-risk, transient individuals in a 144-bed single adult stabilization homeless shelter. The employee will meet individually with clients to assist them in developing and implementing a treatment plan, identifying problems, strengths, weaknesses, coping skills and providing referrals, service connection and assistance as needed. Additional responsibilities will be provided upon hire by way of a formal job description.


EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). LMSW Required within 6 months of hire. At least two years’ experience in an area of specialized social work practice. Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.
