Breathe (Life Healing Centers) is hiring for a Licensed Vocation Nurse (LVN) in West Hollywood, CA area!
* Part Time position for Wednesday and Thursday day shift *
The LVN/Healthcare Technician will be responsible for following guidelines and implementation, management, supervision, and evaluation of all medical aspects of the company’s programs in accordance with the standards and procedures set out by the organization. As a member of the clinical team, the Healthcare Technician works with medical doctors, specialists, and other licensed medical personnel in providing direct resident care to adults residing in a detox/residential treatment program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completes Client orientation, welcomes and reviews client handbook with new clients.
- Consistently completes client-related paperwork at admission and discharge.
- Performs searches, deciphers contraband from authorized items; labels and stores luggage for safekeeping. Understands Client Handbook and consistently adhere to its guidelines, redirecting clients from negative behaviors.
- Performs rounds on a regular basis. Oversees client use of telephones. Conducts and records urinary analyses processes and results. Client medication monitoring. Client crisis intervention/prevention. Attends in-services and trainings.
- Assists with self-administration of medication policy to document and observe resident medication regimen for all residents at all levels of care.
- Ensures accurate documentation on medication orders. Observes residents, charts and reports changes in residents’ conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment and taking any necessary action.
- Answer residents’ questions regarding MD orders and determines how to assist them.
- Measures and records patients’ vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration when required.
- Maintain inventory log and requisition samples as well as instruments (drug screens, breathalyzers, etc.) and communicates when inventory is low.
- Evaluates medical concerns and directs residents to emergency medical care when required.
- Works as part of a health care team to assess resident’s needs, plan and modify care and implement interventions. Reviews medication logs and consults with residents and physicians regarding refills.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of CA.
- General knowledge of twelve-step recovery programs, the disease of chemical dependency, eating disorders and Experience Recovery treatment philosophy.
- CPR / First Aid certified.
- Certification to administer injections and TB tests a plus.
- 1 year experience in a behavioral health residential treatment setting preferred.
- Proficient computer skills and ability use various software programs.
- Prior client transporter experience (preferred).
- Ability to operate motor vehicles & Have a valid driver’s license in good standing and auto insurance.
- Successfully complete drug screen and comprehensive background check.
