The Team

As we continue to expand, A&M Energy is seeking strong Director and Senior Director level talent with experience in the energy sector to join the Energy practice. A&M works with clients to deliver operational, consulting, and industry expertise to management and investors seeking to accelerate performance, overcome challenges and maximize value. 

The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge in multiple of the following areas:

  • Upstream, midstream, downstream, or oilfield services and equipment
  • Oil, gas, liquefied natural gas and natural gas liquids
  • Operational performance improvement; ideal candidate will have led or worked in operations and/or in operations planning
  • Merger and acquisition integration planning and execution
  • Divestiture and carve-out planning and execution
  • Marketing, trading, risk, contracting
  • Familiar with gathering, processing, terminals and pipeline systems
  • Cost accounting, product costing, performance improvement, and profitability analysis
  • Experience with lease record management and division orders
  • Systems implementation/integration experience is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and develop solutions to complex problems

Responsibilities:

  • Provide service excellence by identifying key client business issues
  • Determine client needs by supplementing the standard assessment techniques and tools with innovative approaches
  • Evaluate and validate analysis and develop recommendations for the client in the context of the overall engagement
  • Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables
  • Effectively manage the team and day-to-day relationships to ensure exceptional performance
  • Participate in the development and presentation of proposals for business development activities

Qualifications:

  • 9-20 years of relevant consulting and/or industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing projects in within the Traditional Oil & Gas and Mining sectors
  • Ability to derive insights from quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Strong communications skills and the ability to articulate complex messages succinctly
  • Must have significant top tier management consulting experience
  • Senior Director level candidates should have a demonstrated track record of originating and / or selling work
  • Experience across the following services:
    • Business transformations / performance improvement and margin enhancement experience
    • Integration / carve-out, synergy identification / execution
    • Supply chain and / or transaction accounting functional skills a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, finance, economics preferred; MBA a plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Excel, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint)
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Comfortable with travel

The salary range for Director is $150,000-$210,000 annually and Senior Director is $175,000-$250,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance.  Please ask your recruiter for details.

Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings’ fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages at rates determined from time to time as well as a 401(k) retirement plan. Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive a discretionary contribution to their 401(k) from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave.
