Job Description:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Metrocare is part of the Cohen Veterans Network, a national nonprofit network of clinics designed to strengthen mental health outcomes and complement existing support for veterans and military families.

The Clinic Director (CD) is responsible for overseeing all veteran service programs within Metrocare, including the Cohen Clinic and the Military Veteran Peer Network. The CD serves as liaison and representative to the veteran and military community in North Texas and to partner organizations. As the clinical and administrative leader, the CD is responsible for creating and sustaining a clinical program that meets the highest standards of evidence-based practice and quality care. The CD is responsible for creating and monitoring best clinical and administrative practice standards at every level of the clinic. The CD works in close collaboration with Metrocare, CVN, and MVPN leadership teams, ensuring program missions and policies are being met and understood by program staff. The CD may spend a small portion (3-5 hours) of their time performing direct clinical care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct, manage, and oversee all clinical and non-clinical operations (e.g., clinical care, care coordination, client scheduling, billing and revenue cycle management staffing, measurement and evaluation, accreditation, and financial management), including tracking, reporting, and responding to the program’s performance indicators.
  • Foster development of the clinic leadership team to provide on-going program evaluation and recommendations for continuous growth and quality.
  • Provide routine supervision for direct reports and timely completion of administrative supervision duties (e.g., hiring, onboarding, timecards, performance management).
  • Ensure staff are adhering to program guidelines.
  • Manage relationship with the program funders, including overseeing performance measurement (e.g., clinical and operational outcomes reporting) and representing the program at conferences or meetings.
  • Serve as formal representative for the clinic within the community, ensuring consistent communication and feedback from community stakeholders and referral partners.
  • Partner with Metrocare's finance and development teams to ensure financial sustainability of the programs, including grant-writing and reporting and supporting philanthropy.
  • Maintains required productivity levels as outlined in clinic and network policies.
  • Attends relevant meetings and attends/completes relevant trainings.
  • Maintains high standards of privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Required:
    • Masters or doctoral degree in mental health field required; preference for completion of accredited degree program.
    • Five (5) years of independent clinical experience required
    • Two (2) years of supervisory and management experience within a clinical setting required.
    • Independent licensure as mental health clinician in Texas with board-approved supervisor status (if applicable) required by hire date, to include Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-S), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-S), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT-S). Eligible for TRICARE certification.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience delivering treatment via multiple modalities (i.e., individual adult, individual child, couples, family, and group treatment) is preferred.
    • Training and experience implementing evidence-based treatments is preferred.
    • Experience using measurement-based care is preferred.
    • Experience working with a military or veteran population is preferred.
    • Bilingual (Spanish, English) language skills are preferred.

DRIVING REQUIRED:  No    

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Basic math skills required.
  • Ability to work with reports and numbers.
