Job Description

Description

 

The position provides direct support to the VP & Controller and is primarily responsible for monitoring general ledger activity, preparation of management and regulatory reports, allowance of loan loss analysis, interest rate risk analysis and reporting, and providing assistance in maintaining financial software tools, budget preparation, and monitoring of various financial activities of the Bank (and its subsidiaries). The Senior Accountant is also responsible to serve a backup role for various departmental critical functions and day-to-day activities within the Finance department.


Essential Functions:

  • To provide and exceptional service experience, every time!
  • Must have excellent communication and telephone skills.
  • Allowance for Loan loss accounting analysis and measurement.
  • Interest Rate Risk reporting and analysis for ALCO preparation.
  • Preparation of Quarterly Call Report and research GAAP relevant to financial institutions
  • Preparation of FRB Reporting for Bank Holding company and interpret rules.
  • Review Bank earnings trends and provide monthly analysis of variance explanations.
  • Financial reporting software maintenance to meet financial reporting needs.
  • Assist with annual Budget.
  • IT application to promote work efficiencies.
  • Assist with GAAP application applicable to financial institutions.
  • Assist with Annual Report financial statements and footnote preparation.
  • Horizon report development of management reports as needed.
  • Cross train and back-up all other critical functional areas including Wire Transfers, Fixed Assets, Investment securities.
  • Professionalism with a customer service focus. Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office products and financial reporting software tools.
  • This is a full-time position performed in a regular office work environment and will routinely use standard office equipment.

Requirements

 

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in accounting, reporting and financial analysis.
  • Experience in the banking industry a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required
  • Experience in reconciling general ledger accounts
  • Travel may be required
  • This is a full-time position performed in a regular office work environment and will routinely use standard office equipment.
