MAJOR FUNCTION:
Provides direction for nursing departments in accordance with professional nursing standards and requirements of licensing and accrediting agencies. A Registered Nurse who is accountable to assure the standard of care is maintained within the framework of: Hospital System Mission, Vision, Values and Goals, Nursing Department goals and Budget guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelors in Nursing required.
- Master's degree in Nursing or Management preferred.
- Five years of nursing experience required with at least two years of experience in one specialty area.
- One to three years of nursing management experience required.
Certification/Licensure:
- Licensed as a registered nurse in New Jersey.
- Certification in area of specialty preferred
- 8 hours of stroke education required annually.
