JOB TITLE: Pre K Teacher
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Principal/Pre K Director
PAY GRADE: Certified Salary Schedule
LOCATION: Primary

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Provides developmentally appropriate instruction to Pre-K students in a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. Supports the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of young children in alignment with Arkansas Early Learning Standards and district expectations.

Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education
Valid Arkansas teaching license with Birth–PreK or P–4 certification.
CPR and First Aid certification required.
Must provide proof of awareness of the Science of Reading
Experience:
3 years of experience preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Develops and implements lesson plans aligned to the Arkansas Early Childhood Education Frameworks and district curriculum.
Provides developmentally appropriate, research-based instruction.
Differentiates instruction to meet individual student needs.
Integrates literacy, math, science, social studies, and social-emotional learning into daily activities.
Uses formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instruction
Maintains accurate and complete student records as required by law and district policy
Establishes and maintains a positive, structured classroom environment conducive to learning
Implements district-approved classroom management strategies.
Ensures the safety and supervision of students at all times.
Maintains an organized, clean, and engaging classroom environment.
Observes and evaluates student development and progress.
Collaborates with special education, intervention, and related service staff.
Participates in Response to Intervention (RTI) and other student support processes as needed.
Communicates regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and development.
Conducts parent-teacher conferences.
Works collaboratively with paraprofessionals and other staff members.
Participates in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), faculty meetings, and district professional development.
Adheres to all district policies, procedures, and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines.
Maintains confidentiality of student and personnel information.
Demonstrates professionalism in attendance, communication, and conduct.
Engages in ongoing professional growth activities.
Follow all state licensing regulations for childcare centers.
Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises assigned paraprofessionals and students.

Physical Demands:
Regularly required to sit, walk, and talk or hear.
