    Job Description

    TITLE: PCELC Group Leader Contract Length:     163 days

     

    REPORTS TO: PCELC Director

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience with Teaching Strategies GOLD.
    • Must be Lead Teacher Qualified.
    • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
    • Minimum one year experience working with appropriate age group.
    • Ability to work within an established disciplinary program.
    • Working knowledge of the Colorado Shines system and be registered on PDIS.
    • Infant/Child CPR and First Aid Certification or ability to obtain one.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff and administration.
    • " Clear" background check through submission of fingerprint card to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, and Background Information Services.          

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assess student needs, progress and achievement; diagnose and remedy weaknesses.
    • Instruction and supervision of preschool age students.
    • Must be willing to work with 3-5 year old children in the preschool environment.  This population could include developmentally delayed and at-risk children along with typical preschool aged children. Applicant must have current medical exam, and all immunizations up to date.
    • Exhibit excellent classroom management skills that enhance learning, maintain sound control over student behavior and effectively manage transitions from one activity to another.
    • Prepare and use effective instructional strategies using appropriate teaching materials.
    • Other duties as assigned by PCELC Director.

     

    EVALUATIONPCELC Group Leaders are evaluated annually by the PCELC Director.Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Policies GDO and GDO-R: Evaluation of Classified/Support Staff.

     

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENTThe PCELC Group Leader position is an at-will position. 

    Work Year: August-June �163 days per year, 8.25 hours per day (4-day week).

     

    Salary: Initial placement on the Classified Salary Schedule, column is at the discretion of the Superintendent. Salary is an hourly rate based on placement on the schedule. Up to ten (10) years credit for previous experience in a comparable position may be allowed.

    ADDITIONAL JOB CONSIDERATIONS: Necessary travel throughout the District requires the use of a private vehicle and Colorado Driver's License. Work outside of regularly scheduled hours may be required to fulfill job duties and responsibilities. Work may need to be performed in narrow, poorly lighted, confined spaces.
