    ASST. WRESTLING COACH
    Position: ASST. WRESTLING COACH
    Reports To: Athletic Director
    Stipend Category: III (WRESTLING ASST; see contract Appendix II for
    placement)

    Summary and Purpose: Support student-athlete development in cheerleading and
    assisting the Shepard Athletic Department mission and vision statement.

    Responsibilities:
     Teach wrestling fundamentals, strategies, and sportsmanship.
     Supervise student-athletes during practices, meets, travel, and related events.
     Attend and actively participate in all scheduled practices, meets (home and away), and team functions.
     Plan practices, and conduct skill instruction.
     Monitor and enforce all eligibility, safety, and conduct requirements as established by IHSA, the school, and district policies.
     Chaperone and supervise athletes at all wrestling events (including practices, meets, games, etc.), maintain discipline and promote a positive team environment.
     Maintain a safe environment and report injuries promptly to appropriate staff.
     Accurately report scores and results on IHSA School Center website.
     Complete required paperwork, attendance logs, and communicate with parents and administration as needed.
     Attend coach meetings and required professional development as assigned by the athletic department.

    Additional Expectations:
    Available to work in the off-season.
    Assist with equipment management, set-up, and breakdown for practices and meets.
    Participate in local community events such as parades.
    Foster academic achievement, positive citizenship, and school spirit among student-athletes.
    Complete required first aid, CPR, and district coaching certifications as required by ISBE and adhere to all training expectations.

    Qualifications:
    Previous high school cheerleading coaching experience preferred;  Illinois Professional Educator License(PEL) or ASEP Certificate required


    Compensation and Benefits for External Applicants :
    Individuals hired from outside CHSD 218 as seasonal coaches or activity sponsors
    receive only the contractual stipend for the assignment.
    Board-provided employee benefits (including health, dental, life insurance, leave, and participation in district retirement plans) are not
    available to external hires in these roles. For benefit eligibility, an individual must be a contracted district employee.
