     Position Title: Enrichment Instructor � Basic Computer Applications
     Schedule: One evening per week, Tuesdays, 6:00 PM � 8:00 PM
     Duration: 8 Weeks (Fall 2026) October - December 
     Location: Exeter Adult Education � Exeter, NH
     Classification: Part-Time / Contract Enrichment Instructor
     Compensation: $25.00 per hour

     


     

    Position Summary

    Exeter Adult Education is seeking a dynamic and engaging Enrichment Instructor to deliver a Basic Computer Applications class for adult learners in the community. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching beginner-level computing skills in an adult or community education setting. This course is designed for students with little to no prior computer experience.

    The instructor will foster a supportive learning environment, adapt instruction to meet diverse learner needs, and help students build confidence in using technology for personal, academic, and professional purposes.

     


     

    Course Overview

    Basic Computer Applications
    This 8-week evening course (2 hours per session) will introduce adult learners to essential computer skills, including:

    • Understanding computer hardware and software basics

       
    • Navigating the Windows operating system

       
    • Creating, saving, and organizing documents and files

       
    • Working with Microsoft Word (basic editing, formatting, saving)

       
    • Introduction to Microsoft Excel (creating simple spreadsheets, entering data, basic formulas)

       
    • Tips for responsible and safe use of technology

       

    Learners should leave the course feeling more confident using everyday computer applications for work, school, and life.

     


     

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare and deliver lesson plans aligned with course goals

       
    • Provide clear instruction and support for basic computing concepts

       
    • Use a variety of instructional strategies to engage adult learners

       
    • Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback

       
    • Maintain attendance and participation records

       
    • Communicate effectively with program staff

       

     


     

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Demonstrated experience teaching adult learners

       
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel)

       
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

       
    • Patience and ability to support learners with varied skill levels

       

    Preferred:

    • Experience teaching in at high school or community education/adult education setting

       
    • Familiarity with adult learning principles
