Your Role
Each day begins with reviewing project documentation to understand system requirements, assembly procedures, and build expectations. You will utilize a range of mechanical tools and equipment to assemble automation systems with accuracy and efficiency. A strong focus on quality is essential, including inspecting components, verifying assemblies, and ensuring all work meets ATC standards. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with engineers and team members to troubleshoot issues, document processes, and identify opportunities for improvement. Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace is critical to supporting both safety and operational excellence.
Required Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent, with 1–3 years of relevant hands-on experience or a technical certificate in manufacturing, assembly, or a related mechanical field.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematics.
- Understanding of bills of material (BOMs) and the ability to verify components meet design and customer requirements.
- Experience aligning components and assemblies, verifying tolerances, and ensuring proper fit and function.
- Proficiency in mechanical assembly, machine setup, and operational testing, including equipment tryouts and performance validation.
- Experience performing layout work, including locating, drilling, and tapping holes.
- Ability to create hand sketches with accurate dimensions for fabrication or modification.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Ability to make disposition decisions on nonconforming parts, including rework or rejection, in accordance with quality standards.
- Working knowledge of machining processes, toolmaking, and mechanical design concepts preferred.
- Ability to collaborate with designers and engineers throughout development and assembly, including supporting drawing updates.
- Experience reading electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and I/O layouts, with the ability to plumb pneumatic systems and perform low-voltage checks.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional communication when interacting with customers, coworkers, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, follow detailed instructions, and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Demonstrated reliability, including consistent attendance.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

- Regular standing, walking, pushing, pulling, overhead reaching, and bending.
- Comfortable working underneath machines and overhead.
