Job Description

Industrial Inspection & Analysis (IIA) is seeking a Level III NDT Technician – Ultrasonic Testing (UT) ASNT – to join our lab team in St. Louis, MO. This is an onsite position, and relocation assistance is provided.

Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.


Position Summary

In this role, you will lead, execute, and oversee the nondestructive testing programs by managing training, certification efforts, and auditing. You will develop and approve NDT procedures, perform advanced inspections, and ensure compliance with ASNT and other applicable customer, industry, and government standards.


This is a full-time position that will support a minimum of 40 hours per week. If NDT work is not available, the technician will support other areas of the lab to ensure 40 hours of work per week.

The Level III UT Technician will:

  • Perform hands-on Non-Destructive Testing at customer sites and / or at the lab in St. Louis. Most of the projects supported are local to the St. Louis area with only a few being out of town.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to Level 1 and Level 2 NDT personnel in the Ultrasonic Testing method.
  • Lead the qualification and certification processes for NDT personnel, including developing and administering examinations
  • Maintain comprehensive records of NDT certifications, procedures, and inspection results
  • Perform complex NDT inspections, interpret results, and make critical acceptance/rejection decisions on engine components, utilizing advanced NDT equipment and software
  • Ensure work and used materials are compliant with manufacturer and customer specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and quality procedures, laws, regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Own personal and overall job site safety, stopping the job if required due to unsafe conditions or lack of compliance with quality requirements.
  • Perform day to day and routine safety observations and inspections.
  • Perform pre-job preparations of equipment, job walkdowns, procedural reviews, etc. as required by the specific work scope.
  • Perform post-job equipment, job walkdowns, procedural reviews, etc. as required by the specific work scope for the completed work and future work scheduled / planned.
  • Complete applicable job reports and other paperwork as required / instructed on or before the required date as communicated by the applicable IIA representative.


Qualifications

  • ANST Level III UT certification required.
  • Provide verifiable evidence of certification, OJT hours, and / or completion of ASNT recommended training program.
  • Meet or exceed quality program requirements for work experience on the applicable method and total work experience for the NDT method and level.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must have and maintain a current valid driver’s license.
  • Take and pass all pre-employment screening, including background and initial and future random drug screening.
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent
