Job Description:

MACOM Technology
Solutions is looking for a highly skilled Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) to
support customers in China and throughout Asia on a variety of products from
different Business Units. Being the primary interface with customers, the
successful candidate will process product quality related issues reported by
customers with MACOM’s teams and drive internal activities to close issues to
customer’s satisfaction in a timely manner. The candidate will also manage
customer’s complaints, run internal metric reports, and provide general
guidance and trainings to internal teams to continue improving MACOM’s product
quality and customer service.

Primary Duties
and Responsibilities:

  • Be the first line of contact for customer’s quality related issues
    on products, including monitoring customer’s evaluation to MACOM’s new
    product releases.
  • Review and approve customer’s requests for Return Material
    Authorization (RMA).
  • Perform final review and sign off MACOM’s failure analysis reports
    for sharing with customers.
  • Identify and initiate actions for continuous improvement of MACOM’s
    customer quality system and product quality.
  • Create and publish metric reports for the customer quality
    engineering team to help drive internal improvements.
  • Manage and lead the control of rejected and returned material from
    customers in MACOM’s internal system.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams and new hires on
    control of quality hold material.

Key Competencies
Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science,
    Physics or related engineering field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a CQE role in a high-volume
    electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar MRP inventory control system.
  • Experience in creating and managing quality metrics.
  • Knowledge and experience of using
    Problem-solving methodologies such as Six Sigma, 8D, or Global Problem
    Solving.
  • Able and willing to travel to Asia customer sites as needed.
  • Strong organizational and reporting skills both within teams and to
    external teams and customers.
  • Excellent analytic skills and attention to details.
  • Good English writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in foreign-owned multinational firms is a strong
    advantage.
  • Candidate must have the ability to work independently on multiple
    tasks concurrently and the flexibility to adjust to changing priorities.
